The Fantastic Four line would be released at the same time as the Iron Man line and there would be several similarities between the lines. Both lines have 4 series (Iron Man had a 5th but it was cancelled due to poor sales). This figure line would offer lots of new villains and heroes that were previously unreleased. The first lineup of characters and figures would be a really good start for this line. Not only did they give us all 4 fantastic four characters, but we got alot of other supporting characters as well. Though, 2 of the 4 fantastic four members were just repaints of other figures, it was still a nice touch.Series 2
This series gave the other two fantastic four members who only got repaints in the last series brand new figures. In addition to that, we were given several new supporting characters that really added to the line. Still, some of the figures had a bit of a cartoony look to them. But, they did fit in well with most all the other marvel figures.Series 3
The third lineup gives a whole host of new villains and a few new heroes. The lineup originally contained an Adam Warlock figure, but it was dropped for some reason. Attuma replaced him in the series.Series 4

Incredible Hulk was late to get its own action figure line, in comparison to X-Men and Spider-Man. But once the ball got rolling, it may have been clear why. Incredible Hulk's roster of villains and good guys only gets so far with the mainstream toy buying audience, who may really only be familiar with Hulk and She-Hulk. The Outcasts line contains several new characters in it, which really added to the Marvel Universe. Some of them were kind of strange, like Two-head, but they were all good. The Iron Man series would contain a few new characters, the most notable one being Iron Man. The series is kind of like the later Spider-Man series in that each lineup would have at least one Iron Man in it, most of the times over half of the line would be Iron Mans. The series was modeled after the Iron Man cartoon, much like the Fantastic Four line. Due to poor sales the 5th series for this line was dropped. The third series would start out with 7 figures, but be knocked down to 6. The fourth lineup of figures would be down to only 5 figures per series. Unfortunately, 3 of the 5 would be Iron Men in this lineup, and another War Machine. 2007 would be a transitonal year that Marvel Toys (Toy Biz) would not survive. Legendary Comic Book Heroes was the final attempt for Marvel Toys to save their brand. The Avengers line (1996-1997) offered many new figures to the Marvel figure lines. Fans had been waiting for a series like this for awhile, as many Avengers were issued in various other lines. This most of this line was based off the Avengers cartoon series that followed after many of the other Marvel cartoons had stopped.Avengers Original Box Set
This set would include all the Avengers that were originally in the comics as they appeared in the comics. This set is very similar to the two X-Men sets that were released. Like the X-Men sets, this set contained some very detailed figures that were excellent likenesses of the characters. These sets were aimed more towards the collector.Avengers Reborn
This series was a bit different than the other Avengers line as it is to the 6" scale. But it does include some figures who had not gotten figures in a long time or at all. This series was labeled as a collector's series and is still a little tough to find.Series 1

Marvel Hall of Fame (1996-1998) series was only available at Puzzle Zoo. Later, at KB Toys for closeout sales. It is very similar to the Marvel Universe line in that it contains lots of rereleases from various series. This series though would offer a bunch of new repaints of figures to either make new figures or new versions of other figures. This line also contained a bunch of figures that did not have figures yet.Series 1

The second Hall of Fame series is the first of a few 'She-Force' sub lines that gave us a few new characters as well as a few repaints of older characters. In addition to the Black Queen and Ms. Marvel, we got a Jean Grey in her somewhat normal outfit.Series 3

Since Toybiz didn't put out as many female figures in the various lines, these lines helped even it out by featuring all female figures. While they were all repaints, we did get quite a few characters who were previously overlooked.Series 7
This is another installment of the She-Force series. It comes with several brand new characters and some versions of other ones. It offers a good lineup of figures for being all repaints.Marvel Legends (2002)
Ah, the Marvel Legends series. This line is claimed by many to be the best figure series of any action figure. This series is not only great due to its detailed sculpts, but in the figures articulation as well. A lot of the figures have such features as two joints in the elbows and knees, poseable fingers, joints in the upper bodies and on the feet as well. All the figures also feature a figure base to attach the figure to and pose with. The bases also hang on the wall, so you can save shelf space. Each figure also features comic books, which are all reprints of various older comics, but gives you a good idea of who the character is and what they can do. Also, the figures come packed in a sturdy plastic shell for packaging, which makes it so collectors who leave them in their packaging can keep the packaging nice and not get rips or tears on the cards. It also can make them difficult to get open though. The down side of the line is variants. There are many variants of a lot of figures, which can make it difficult to collect. Spider-Man is Toybiz's second biggest line, only slightly smaller than the X-Men line. This series would feature many new heroes and villains, most notably is Spider-man, who would get tons of figures in the line. He would be the character who had the most figures made.This style of 5" figure was mostly retired in 2001 with a few stray series that came on as exclusives.
Also released were a 2" line known as Web of Steel, they were metallic and about as heavy as a larger action figure!

This is a small series of Spider-Man figures in that there were only three figures. All three figures are large versions of Spider-Man crossed with other characters. These versions of the character have never appeared in the comics. The figures are much larger than the tradional 5 inch Spider-Man figures out at around the same time though Man-Lizard and Vampider do not look too out of place. Spider-Goblin is the smaller figure but still fits better in the 6 inch scale of Spider Man Classics and Marvel Legends. The figures all featured some sort of wind up actions. The first few series of the Spider-man line would be modeled after how the characters appeared in the animated series. This also influenced which characters would make it into the lineup. This first Spider-man lineup would offer a very good selection of villains along with two Spider-mans. Spider-man variants would be prove to be plentiful during the line's production. The figures would come packaged on backs that would show each character on the front, which would change to a generic card in later lines.Spiderman Series 2
Spider-man's second series lineup would feature another good assortment of villains as well as the standard assortment of Spider-man variants. The choices for villains would be determined on the animated series and who was appearing in it at the time.Spiderman Series 3

In the late 1990's, wrestling’s best were featured in the WCW assortments by Toy Biz. This would come to an end when WCW was purchased by WWF in 2001, but only four years later wrestling's second most prominent promotion, TNA Wrestling, would land a deal, also with Toy Biz, now being rebranded as Marvel Toys! TNA’s Impact Wrestling figures offered a more realistic alternative to Jakks Ruthless Aggression line, and appealed to the former WCW Toy Biz collectors due to their similar style and size.Press releases from spring 2005 would announce Jeff Jarrett's TNA Wrestling would receive its very first line of figures, with all new products on the shelves by August 2005. The line would unintentionally deliver with a great mix of former WCW wrestlers and TNA stars before its untimely demise at the end of 2007

The Venom series of figures were a spin-off of the Spider-Man toyline And featured no Spider-Men at all. They both seem to be aimed more at collectors than anyone else and feature figures of characters that only appeared in the comics.This Spider-Man spin-off series of figures was aimed more at collectors and feature characters from the Venom mini-series of the same name. The figures are mostly to the larger 6 inch scale, with the exception Scream who is a bit shorter than the average 6 inch figure but still taller than the standard 5 inch figures from the Spider-Man lines.
The gimmick in this line is that each figure has an action feature relating to that character. Each figure came with a symbiote slime pod and most figures have at least one variant.

In 1999, World Championship Wrestling would get figures made by Marvel Superhero producer Toy Biz!Editor's note: Information in this section was complied with heavy research by Jack Slime. If you copy any information from this section it will be blatant plagiarism without consent. I put the time into this section, at least reach out before you try to use anything from it.
World Championship Wrestling WCW
The WCW line was released in the spring of 1999. "World Championship Wrestling, a Time Warner Company, and Leisure Concepts, Inc., the licensing division of 4 Kids Entertainment, Inc., have entered into a long-term agreement with Toy Biz, for the creation of a toy line based on the WCW franchise." - Lees Toy Review #66, page 19. The line would continue until WCWs demise in March 2001.WCWs third line of figures was the most popular (though arguably not as popular as Jakks WWF line). The Toy Biz WCW figures were more successful than Galoob and San Francisco Toy Makers, with a slightly larger roster of characters than the previous companies. This new line would show much more promise with articulated joints and more realistic looking heads.

The Uncanny X-Men Series by Toy Biz was developed in 1991 and ran until 1994, ending with series six. The line featured paint variants and some minor carding variants, making finding them all a challenge. Although today the X-Men Toy Biz run isn't sought out by newer collectors, the line itself was a huge hit at the time and helped to continue fueling the interest in Marvel Comics.During the line of Uncanny X-Men Figures, Toy Biz released many other sub-series, which can also be found in our action figure database.

The second series of Generation X figures would provide a few more characters like a new Banshee and a White queen as well as another Generation X figure. The figures in this series were better than the figures in the first series in my opinion in terms of sculpt and detail. The first Generation X series would give us quite a few characters, as well as a Jubilee figure, which had been absent from the X-Men line. Banshee was originally scheduled to be in this series, but was held back to the second series. All the figures in this line seem a little tall and are not all that well articulated. Still, it gives us a whole cast of characters who had been absent previously.Series 3 XMen (Unreleased - Cancelled)
The third series of Generation X figures was cancelled not very far into production due to low sales of the other series. The lineup would have included Husk, Hemmingway, Ever and Sack, M, and Synch. The first series of X-Men vs. Street Fighter figures featured a good assortment of characters from both sides of the character lists. Most of the X-Men were simple repaints of previous figures. The Street Fighter figures used parts from old figures as well as some newly sculpted ones. All the figures came in two packs with one X-Man and one Street Fighter character.The packaging style on the first assortment came on a rectangular carding. The next assortment came on a rounded card, likely released around the time of the second wave of figures.
Xmen vs Street Fighter Series 1.5

This X-Men line is a lot different than the other X-Men lines that have been produced. The figures themselves are to a larger scale and are done to resemble their animated forms from the animated series. The artwork on the animated series has a little bit different look to it, which the figures have as well. Due to this some do not fit in that good with other 6 inch figures like Marvel Legends and X-Men Classics, but are still good in their own right.(Source: MarvelToys.Net)
