GIJoe A Real American Hero (1982-1994) > Hasbro

The three-and-three-quarter-inch figures were inspired by the success of Star Wars figures and spurred on by the renewed patriotism of the Reagan era. Each figure had its own code name and a filecard outlining its task and personality. An enemy force named Cobra was also introduced as a terrorist organization. Each year saw innovations to the 3 3/4" figures, from swivel-arm battle grip in 1983 to exchangeable weapons trees in 1994. The line was cancelled in mid-1994 after (and perhaps because of) Hasbro's merger with Kenner.
